Gladys Cooper (1888-1971)

Dame Gladys Constance Cooper was an English actress whose career spanned seven decades on stage, in films and on television. Beginning on the stage as a teenager in Edwardian musical comedy and pantomime, she was starring in dramatic roles and silent films before the beginning of the First World War.

Lily Elsie was a popular English actress and singer during the Edwardian era, best known for her starring role in the hit London premiere of Franz LehΓ‘r's operetta The Merry Widow.
Beginning as a child star in the 1890s, Elsie built her reputation in several successful Edwardian musical comedies before her great success in The Merry Widow, opening in 1907. Marie Doro was an American stage and film actress of the early silent film era. The NFL quarterback was dressed in head-to-toe black as he escorted his soon-to-be bride hand-in-hand across the cobblestone path. Over the weekend, the singer made a sweet dedication to her new husband at ESSENCE fest while singing her 2006 hit, "Promise," on stage. "This song is for that special someone in my life," she said.

Lin-Manuel Miranda teases new music with Jennifer Lopez


Two of the busiest people in showbiz just teamed up for your new favorite song.
Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, who leaves his 11-time Tony-winning Broadway smash next week, hit the studio with Jennifer Lopez for benefit single Love Make the World Go Round. The collaboration, which the duo teased on Twitter Monday, was recorded for the victims of last month's Orlando shooting.

Lopez, who's juggling filming NBC's Shades of Blue and performing in her Las Vegas residency this summer, sings the chorus of the upbeat track, on which Miranda raps: "What we got is love, even when the sinners hate us / we can not let them diminish or intimidate us."
An official release date has not yet been revealed for Love, which helps raise money for Somos Orlando, a project that will "address the long-term needs for mental health services that are culturally competent and bilingual," according to the Hispanic Federation's website.
